Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to the following websites:

Status of compliance with requirements

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They define three levels of compliance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Our goal is to offer a global website that meets the requirements of WAG 2.1 Level AA. We are currently developing a new website that meets the requirements of WCAG 2.1 Level AA and will go live in 2027.

The following points are currently not fully accessible:

Non-accessible content – Website

  • A mechanism for direct navigation to the main content (known as a “skip link”) is not currently implemented.
  • Individual controls do not meet the required contrast requirements according to WCAG 2.1 (success criterion 1.4.3).
  • The semantic structure of the headings is not consistently implemented correctly on certain pages.
  • Certain visual structures are not consistently or semantically correctly reproduced in the underlying code.
  • In some forms, the input fields do not fully comply with the semantic and structural requirements for accessible HTML.
  • Error messages in forms are sometimes missing or are not transmitted in an accessible manner.
  • Some interactive elements do not have a clearly recognizable focus indicator.
  • Some content is not fully accessible via the keyboard.
  • Certain interactive components cannot be fully operated via the keyboard.
  • Some images contain embedded text that is not available in machine-readable form.
  • No alternative text is available for some images.

Reason: The barriers are being gradually removed as part of a phased, continuous improvement process. Full accessibility is planned.

Non-accessible content – PDF documents

  • Some PDF documents do not have a correct tag structure for labeling content.
  • Alternative texts for images and other elements are missing or are incorrectly nested.
  • Tables are not correctly labeled; for example, TH/TD assignments or a regular structure are missing.
  • The reading order within the documents is not clearly defined.
  • The character encoding is incorrect, which impairs readability by assistive technologies.
  • Document titles are missing in some documents' metadata.

Reason: These documents are mainly taken from older publications and will be gradually adapted as part of future revisions. New PDF documents will be created in an accessible format wherever possible.

Note: If necessary, we can provide content in an accessible format. Please contact us.
